AM VS PM

Way back when in my college days I was a night owl. In fact, getting to bed at midnight was considered early. My training was in the evening. Fast forward to young family life and I was early to bed and early to rise; training way before the sun came up.

So which is the better scenario? Both and neither, let me explain.

In the evening example, one is fully awake, intensity is high and the late training can help reinforce nutrition adherence when a lot of people struggle.

With morning training, the metabolism gets ramped up right away, the day is started on the right note and arguably total activity levels are higher because of it.

Ultimately, the best time comes down to you and what sets you up for success in terms of consistency, intensity and your schedule. Whether you're an early riser or burning the midnight oil, either way, you win!
