FLEX DAILY
Having been a competitive bodybuilder for over 30 years, I’ve been conditioned to flex something every time I see a mirror. Thankfully as I’ve gotten older, the urge to do this is less (but certainly still exists).
While that might sound vain, the reason isn’t to admire myself but rather to gauge how the development is going. That being said, I think it’s a best practice and a challenge that everyone should flex daily.
Whether it’s a bicep, quad, back shot or something else, taking inventory in the mirror can help you stay focused on what you’re working on. It’s also a reminder to either hit the upcoming training session hard, or in the case it was a day or two ago, feeling that slightly sore muscle in the process of recovering and growth.
Please don’t feel pressured to drop your drawers and hit a full-on posedown in the changing room of the department store, throwing up a quick bicep after the shower is a good thing. Now go get your flex on.
