LONGEVITY FORMULA

Having staying power in whatever endeavor someone takes on is impressive. Thinking of athletes, bands, business, it’s always cool to see someone keep on keeping on. When it comes to fitness, I think there are three aspects to look at when it comes to longevity.

Structural Integrity: This is how the body is holding up and hopefully a low injury rate. Smart training that includes progression, recovery and adjustments as/when needed. Additionally proper pre-hab activities that help keep injuries at bay before they happen.


Metabolism: Without question, our metabolism has an impact on our longevity. With this on our side, we can fuel more efficiently, have internal systems working for us. This is the result of proper nutritional habits, regulating recovery and of course, ties back into training to enhance versus destroy the body.


Mindset: I mention this last as the two above reinforce this one, but mindset is also critical when one of the above isn’t going as expected. It’s easy to get burned out, frustrated or defeated. Having tools, systems and support will help build on this, along with a track record of mini wins and momentum.

At the end of the day, balancing the factors above not only work together to make an impact on longevity but maximize progress too. This of course reinforces longevity and helps awesome things happen to bounce back quickly over the obstacles when they don’t.
