RESPECT THE CLOCK

I love being productive. While this is certainly a strength, it can be a weakness, especially when it comes to training.

Often I hear from clients that they want to train frequently, sometimes even with no days off. In that same thought process, having a long list of exercises in a given training session can feel like a requirement.

Productivity

While it can feel accomplished to get through a monumental training session or long list of exercises, oftentimes, less is more.

Recently when I was a bit tighter on time than normal, I condensed my session by dropping a few exercises that I would normally do. The result was improved focus and concentration, which undoubtedly helped with mind/muscle connection, progress and an overall better mental state.

Trying to squeeze in too much into a time frame can not just add to the stress levels, but there is a point of diminishing returns as well.

If you feel pressure to get everything in (especially when it comes to your training), examine the option of cutting back and doing less to accomplish more.
